HEB Chamber of Commerce
I can’t believe the summer is almost over and the start of school is just around the corner! In spite of taking vacations and days for professional education by staff and volunteers, the work of the HEB Chamber of Commerce continues!
First, I’d like to thank some people who have made a huge difference in Hurst Euless Bedford, Texas: Mary Lib Saleh, former long-time mayor of Euless who recently retired from public office and the Chamber Board of Directors; Leon Hogg, former councilman of Euless, recently retired from public office and from the HEB Economic Development Foundation; and Dr. Larry Darlage who is retiring as president of TCC, Northeast Campus and the Chamber Board in August. All three of these dedicated, community-minded individuals have been leaders in HEB since I joined the Chamber and I will certainly miss their participation and advice. I do wish them all well in the new chapters in their lives!
Second, it’s time to nominate businesses and volunteers for the Chamber’s awards to be presented at the Annual Awards Gala in September. Nominate your favorite business for their community participation, an individual for Member of the Year, the Gertrude Tarpley Spirit Award, the HEB Community Service Award, the Bill Ridgway Spirit of Enterprise Award or the prestigious Clyde Mooney Award. To get a nomination form, call the Chamber at 817/283-1521 or email Cheryl at email@example.com or go to our website at www.heb.org.
Third, think about how you want to close out your year – need to meet more potential clients and customers? Join a leads group. Want to network to get your name out in the community? Attend a monthly membership luncheon or business after hours. Want to promote your business? Place an ad in the Chamber’s community guide and membership directory.
Hurst Euless Bedford, Texas is a great place to work, live and play. Participate in your community and the HEB Chamber! Visit our website at www.heb.org or contact me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org for information about how to get involved.
