Gov. Perry Appoints Cabrales to Texas Economic Development Corporation
Gov. Rick Perry has appointed David Cabrales of Dallas to the Texas Economic Development Corporation for a term to expire at the pleasure of the governor. The corporation supports programs and activities of the Governor’s Division of Economic Development and Tourism, in addition to TexasOne, which markets Texas competitively and dynamically to businesses outside the state’s borders.
Cabrales is an attorney and partner at Locke Lord LLP and former general counsel for the Governor’s Office. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Dallas Bar Association, Dallas Hispanic Bar Association and Salesmanship Club of Dallas. He is also a member of the United Ways of Texas Board of Directors and United Way of Metropolitan Dallas. He is a past member of the Texas Racing Commission, Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners, Gulf Coast and Atlantic States Regional Task Force, University of Dallas Board of Trustees, United Way of Metropolitan Dallas Board of Directors and Catholic Charities of Dallas Board of Directors.
Cabrales received a bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University and a law degree from the Southern Methodist University School of Law.
