Irving ISD Meets Standard on State’s Accountability System
Under the state’s accountability system, Irving ISD’s rating for 2014 is Met Standard.
· All five high schools Met Standard.
· Seven of the eight middle schools Met Standard.
· 19 of the 20 elementary schools Met Standard.
· All three of the early childhood schools Met Standard.
Five schools were rated Improvement Required in 2013, with none of those in 2014. For 2014, two campuses are rated Improvement Required. Plans are already in motion to improve student performance at those schools.
An additional measure is the four-year longitudinal graduation rate. The Irving ISD graduation rate for the Class of 2013 was 87.5 percent, an increase of 0.9 percent over the Class of 2012. By comparison, the state’s graduation rate improved only 0.3 percent from 2012 to 2013.
The 2013 and 2014 ratings comparisons for individual schools are shown below. Also shown are Distinction Designations earned by each campus for 2014. In 2013, 11 campuses earned a total of 18 Distinctions. In 2014, 16 campuses earned a total of 31 Distinctions.
