Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia Endorses Senator Leticia Van de Putte For Lieutenant Governor
Sheriff Adrian Garcia has decided to personally endorse Senator Leticia Van de Putte in the Texas Lieutenant Governor’s race. His personal endorsement is not an endorsement from the Harris County Sheriff’s Department.
Sheriff Garcia released the following statement:
“My decision to endorse Senator Leticia Van de Putte comes from her long history of supporting the brave men and women of law enforcement.
“The State of Texas needs strong and sound leadership to provide the best public safety option to its citizens, along with legislative experience to provide the law enforcement community the essential tools to protect our communities.
“Her track record in the state legislature assures us that she will have the same dedication to public safety and will continue to work side-by-side with the law enforcement community when she is elected Lieutenant Governor.”
Adrian Garcia resides in Houston and is the Harris County Sheriff – the largest sheriff’s office in Texas and the third largest in the United States. Adrian Garcia had previously spent 23 years with the Houston Police Department and served six years in the Houston City Council before his 2008 election as Sheriff.
