Keller ISD Partners with Marathon Health for On-site Health Services

Keller ISD announced its partnership with Marathon Health, Inc. to provide on-site health services for the District’s 2,400 employees.

Using its MedicalHome@Work™ model, Marathon Health will provide onsite total population health management, including primary care, health assessments, health coaching, and disease management.

After a thorough vetting process, Keller ISD contracted with Marathon Health as part of an overall effort to increase participation in primary and preventive care services, improve health risk management, and reduce healthcare costs. Marathon Health’s total population health management model moves away from ‘sick care’ toward a solution focused on the whole person, not just their symptoms. The model is designed to help individuals across the health continuum maintain or improve their health status, while at the same time helping employers reduce the increasing burden of healthcare costs.

Keller ISD Superintendent Dr. Randy Reid said providing high standards of health care benefits and wellness programs for teachers and staff ultimately has a significant impact on student success.

“We want our employees to have the opportunity to be their healthiest, and we are excited about this partnership with Marathon to bring on-site employee health services to our District,” Reid said. “The less time spent away recovering from illness means the more time spent in the classroom or office working to provide exceptional educational opportunities for our students.”

Marathon Health CEO Jerry Ford said the MedicalHome@Work™ solution is a proven health management model and an approach ideal for school districts.

“What we do best is care for patients, improve health, give employers and their employees the ability to realize savings, provide access to the right care at the right time,” Ford said. “We will work with the Keller ISD teachers and staff at times most convenient to them as they pursue a healthier lifestyle.”
