Rep. Alonzo Reminds Everyone to Remember 13th Anniversary of 9-11 Today
Today is the thirteenth anniversary of the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center, or “Ground Zero,” as it has now become known across the globe, and Texas State Representative Roberto R. Alonzo reminds everyone to remember the thousands of men and women who lost their lives in this terrible tragedy over a decade ago. In memorial observation of the anniversary the Dallas lawmaker also placed a Remembrance Wreath at 12th Street Art Park, located at 12th & Madison Avenue.
“As we commemorate the thirteenth anniversary today of the 9-11 attacks on the World Trade Center, we are reminded of the thousands of men and women who lost their lives in this horrible tragedy on American soil, including many first responders. Whether it was our fire or law enforcement department personnel, first responders, business people, or simply the average worker, resident or tourist that happened to be at or close to the scene on that horrible day, we lost many lives needlessly and tragically in one of the worst tragedies in American history. We must not forget all those lives came to an end that tragic day and hold them and their families forever in our thoughts, hearts, and prayers as we commemorate the 13th anniversary today, Tuesday, September 11, 2014,” said Rep. Alonzo.
“Without a doubt, this horrible tragedy will forever be etched in our minds and memories, but as we are reminded of this senseless, heart-breaking, and historic event in history, let us not forget that we must also remind ourselves of the stronger faith, unity, and sense of community that tragic events like this can do to us as proud Americans,” continued Rep. Alonzo.
