CITY NOTIFIED OF MORE POSITIVE MOSQUITO SAMPLES

CITY NOTIFIED OF MORE POSITIVE MOSQUITO SAMPLES

The Tarrant County Public Health Department (TCPHD) has notified the city of Colleyville that three mosquito samples have tested positive for the West Nile virus (WNV). Two of the positive samples came from sites that have previously tested positive; this is the first positive test for the other site.

Over the weekend, the city will conduct localized, targeted fogging (spraying) in the affected areas using all-terrain vehicles and backpacks. No fogging will be conducted from trucks on city streets. Residents in proximity to these sites will be notified prior to the start of fogging.

We’ll continue treatment at these sites with a granular larvacide to get greater coverage in the affected area. City staff will also continue conducting mosquito surveillance.
