Texas Elected Officials Praise Van de Putte’s Town Hall Performance

Senator Leticia Van de Putte, Democratic nominee for Lieutenant Governor shared her vision for the future with Texas’ spanish-speaking Latino community. Notably missing was the Republican nominee, Dan Patrick, who chose to snub Texas’ Latino community.

A handful of Texas elected officials tuned-in to watch Senator Van de Putte address the Latino community and expressed their views through the following statements:

Mayor Beto Salinas (R- Mission, TX):
“In true Leticia Van de Putte style, she demonstrated why she would be a great Lieutenant Governor. Leticia is not one to shy away from a debate; she presented compelling facts and provided voters with her blueprint to lead Texas. Leticia puts the petty partisan politics aside and works with everyone to do what is right for our economy and our communities. Tonight’s discussion only validated my support.”

U.S. Congressman Filemon Vela (D- Brownsville, TX):
“The Latino community of Texas just saw firsthand the best candidate for Lieutenant Governor. Leticia Van de Putte is the only candidate in the race with the record, vision, and everyday Texas values to lead our state.”

Texas State Senator Sylvia Garcia (D- Houston, TX):
“Tonight, we saw what a true Texas leader looks like. My Senate sister Leticia Van de Putte was assertive, confident and charismatic. What we saw tonight is a candidate who is in touch with everyday Texans. Leticia proved once again that she is ready to take the lead and fight for all Texans.”

Texas State Senator Senator Jose Rodriguez (D- El Paso, TX):

“Tonight, Senator Van de Putte confirmed what we already knew, she will be a champion for every Texan. She backs her words with actual plans for Texas, and unlike her opponent, she does not hide from Texas voters.The people of San Antonio can attest, if Leticia is given the opportunity, she will work hard for all of Texas.
