Leticia Van de Putte Honors National Hispanic Heritage Month
Today, marks the beginning of National Hispanic Heritage Month, a month-long celebration honoring the contributions of the Hispanic community to the history of our great country.
Senator Leticia Van de Putte released the following statement:
“Hispanic Heritage Month is a time to honor and pay respect to the contributions the Hispanic community has made to the founding and rich history of Texas and across the country. This is a time to recognize how far we have come, and recommit to where we need to go.
“Texas is a beautiful tapestry of cultures, made stronger every day by those who come here ready to work hard and dream big. I’m a proud sixth generation Texan with grandmothers who came from Guadalajara and Muzquiz in Mexico. To me, this is a time to commemorate their sacrifices and honor their dreams.”
