Texas State Rep. Roberto R. Alonzo Joins TOP Group To Encourage Early Voting
State Representative Roberto R. Alonzo today joined the Texas Organizing Project (TOP) at a press conference to encourage early voting for the November 4th General Elections. The press conference which took place at the Bank of America building, 400 S. Zang Blvd, Dallas, was attended by a number of other elected officials in addition to TOP representatives and Rep. Alonzo. Early voting runs from Monday, October 20 through Friday, October 31, prior to the general election.
“Voting is one of the most precious constitutional rights we have as Texans and Americans, and we need to exercise that right if we are to take an active part in the electoral process. Most importantly, everyone should exercise that right if they want to elect representatives who we want to represent us at all levels of government – local, county, state an and federal alike. For that very reason, I encourage every registered voter to take advantage of the early voting period of October 20-31, if for any reason they will not be able to get to the voting booths on the November 4th general elections,” said Rep. Alonzo.
And as our 36th President of the United States – Lyndon B. Johnson said: “The vote is the most powerful instrument ever devised by man for breaking down injustice and destroying the terrible walls which imprison men because they are different from other men.”
