Water Billing Scam
The City of North Richland Hills is advising customers to be aware of a recent telephone scam demanding immediate payment for allegedly past due water bills.
Customers have reported receiving a phone call from an individual falsely representing the water department. Customers were instructed to immediately provide credit card information over the phone for a past due water bill or services would be terminated.
The City of North Richland Hills never calls customers to ask for their credit card number or other financial information. If you receive a suspicious phone call of this nature, disconnect immediately. If you believe you have been a victim of a scam, you should report it to the North Richland Hills Police Department at 817-427-7000.
