North Texas Special Needs Assistance Partners (SNAP) Packs the Pantry for Seniors in Need

North Texas Special Needs Assistance Partners (SNAP) was built on the premise that all persons, regardless of their disability, have the right to enjoy the same range of life experiences in which others in their communities enjoy.
Our mission is to create and support a variety of programs that assist individuals 17 and older living with intellectual disabilities in achieving and sustaining full lives. SNAP members have the same hopes and dreams as their peers living without intellectual disabilities; they want to have jobs, friends, and relationships as well as give back to the community in which they live.
North Texas SNAP’s Girls Night Out and Men’s Club have joined together to pay it forward and give back to local seniors in need. This year, the Annual Helping Hands Food Drive will benefit Metroport Meals on Wheels (MMOW). MMOW is Neighbors Helping Neighbors to alleviate hunger, isolation, and loneliness in our communities, and to foster the independence, worth, and dignity of each individual they serve.

We are asking YOU to join North Texas SNAP’s men and women in making a difference in the community by participating in the Helping Hands Food Drive that runs through Friday, November 14, 2014.

Market Street (Colleyville), longtime supporter and employer of North Texas SNAP members has graciously placed a food donation bin at the front of the store and will participate in helping our members stock the MMOW pantry.

Additional donation locations and events include:
• Colleyville Area Chamber of Commerce (6700 Colleyville Blvd, Colleyville). They will also be collecting food donations at the November Monthly Luncheon on November 6 at the Colleyville Center
• Northeast Tarrant Chamber of Commerce (5001 Denton Hwy, Haltom City). They will also be collecting food donations at the Laser Tag Mixer on November 3 at Laser Quest in NRH.
• North Texas SNAP Office (901 Clinic Drive, #109, Euless) on Wednesday’s (10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.), SNAP events or you may place your donations in the boxes outside the SNAP office.
