Culinary Students Present Meal Concepts to iFratelli’s
The Culinary Arts and Hospitality Program at Jack E. Singley Academy has partnered with Medical City Children’s Hospital and iFratelli Ristorante for the Kids Fit Menu Challenge. Medical City connected the students with the local eatery to create a child’s meal that is healthy and nutritious. iFratelli presented their available ingredients and kitchen equipment, and three students spent time after school and on the weekends to research and develop meals accordingly.
Sophomore Abelardo Villegas and freshmen Juan Altamirano and Chris Lovo presented three concepts to iFratelli Owner David Cole and General Manager Logan Swanson on November 18. The restaurant personnel will meet with the head chef to decide which of the options make their restaurant’s menu for a limited time. When the decision is made, students will be invited to the restaurant to see their concepts created and then will be treated to a meal.
