A man accused in a series of crimes across Southlake, Westlake and Fort Worth Tuesday afternoon was arrested early Wednesday, after fleeing from Johnson County Sheriff’s officers in a stolen vehicle and then on foot.

Keller police say Alvarado resident Kenneth Sheets, 37, stole a Trophy Club resident’s vehicle at gunpoint around 2 p.m. Tuesday at Westlake’s Larry North Fitness of Solana Club at 2902 Sam School Road. Sheets is also suspected in a Southlake home burglary that occurred about 30 minutes prior to the aggravated robbery in Westlake, and a second carjacking a few hours later on the west side of Fort Worth.

“This is an excellent example of several jurisdictions working together to solve a case, and of the effectiveness of our regional 9-1-1 efforts,” said Keller Public Safety Director Mark Hafner, who serves as police chief for Keller and Westlake. “Southlake, Keller, Fort Worth, Johnson County — we chased all the leads and used all of our resources for a successful conclusion.”
Sheets remains in the Johnson County Jail with bail set at $93,500. His charges include Evading Arrest; two charges of Evading Arrest with a Vehicle; Theft of Property $500-$1,500; Theft of Property $1,500-$20,000; Burglary of a Habitation; Aggravated Robbery with a Deadly Weapon; and Fraudulent Use or Possession of Identifying Information.
