Cookin’ For Kids is a unique and fun evening that showcases both Amateur and Celebrity chefs as the entertainment centerpiece. Seasoned chefs test their culinary skills in a fast paced cook-off while guests enjoy samples from area restaurants, wineries, breweries and bakeries and bid on the chef plate of their choice. Amazing items are up for Silent and Live Auctions throughout the night, with Dillard’s as the exclusive sponsor of the Big Board. The Dillard’s Big Board will feature “Dream Aprons” that will include high end themed items up for bid. The evening benefits Kids Who Care; a non-profit organization that produces great kids through leadership, musical theatre training and performance.
Each participating chef receives a cooler of “secret” ingredients which will not be opened until the Cook-Off begins
The ingredients include spices, condiments, vegetables, fruit and a nice cut of meat that has been selected and prepared by a professional Chef.
All participants receive the same ingredients and have the same amount of time to prepare their presentation.
Each Chef is asked to prepare two identical plates; one to be tasted and evaluated by a panel of Judges one to be auctioned and eaten immediately by event guests .
