Gardening Day at the Watauga Public Library

Gardening Day at the Watauga Public Library

Join the Library on Saturday, April 25th from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. for a day devoted to gardening. The Library will host a lecture about container gardening, hold a plant exchange and introduce the new Watauga Public Library Seed Exchange.

A Tarrant County Master Gardener will give a presentation called “All About Container Gardening” from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. At the presentation you will learn how to grow beautiful plants that will brighten your yard and satisfy your palate.

After the presentation, be sure to stay for a perennial plant exchange from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Thin out your bulbs, rhizomes, and other perennials and exchange them for another plant or variety. Please clean soil from the plants and trim the foliage. Bring each variety in a labeled baggie or container.

Also, help the Library start our very own seed exchange by donating seeds to be added to our collection. You will be able to “check out” seeds to grow in your home garden. At the end of the season be sure to bring in seeds that you’ve saved to add to the community’s seed exchange.

This program is free and open to the public. Call Adult Services Librarian, Dana Harper at 817.514.5865 for more information.
