Casa Mañana presents Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story

Casa Mañana Theatre closes the 2014-2015 Season with the rockin’ musical Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story. Tickets are on sale now.

Follow the incredible journey of Buddy’s meteoric rise to fame during the golden days of rock ‘n’ roll to his untimely death in 1959 in this popular tribute. Dubbed the “World’s Most Successful Rock Musical,” Buddy will have you dancing in the aisles with rousing hits such as “Peggy Sue,” That’ll be the Day” and “Maybe Baby.”

Buddy stars local actor Joey Folsom. Joey was most recently seen as George in ALL MY SONS (Water Tower Theater). Other theatre credits include Hank Williams in LOST HIGHWAY at Water Tower Theatre Jasper in THE ALIENS (the two of which he was awarded D Magazines “BEST ACTOR” award for 2014), Odysseus Rex in THE YEAR OF THE ROOSTER and Jeff in SUBURBIA (Upstart), George in OUR TOWN and Oscar in INDOOR/OUTDOOR (Water Tower Theatre), Danny in DANNY & THE DEEP BLUE SEA (BGPT), Georgie in GEORGIE GETS A FACELIFT (Churchmouse) and Felix/Ned/Davis in 3 Foote (Kitchen Dog Theatre). This Summer he will be appearing at the Festival of Independent Theatres as The Sick Man in the one man show SICK FUCK for Upstart Productions. Joey is a student of the Meisner Technique with Terry Martin and represented by the Horne Agency.

Other cast members include: Sam Weber as “Joe,” Zach Cossman as “Jerry,” Spencer Reid Baker as “Tommy,” Matt Allen as “Hipockets Duncan,” Paul Taylor as “Norm Petty” and Cheryl Allison as “Vi Petty.” They are joined by ensemble members Steve Gagliastro, Brian Mathis, Troy Valjean Rucker, Adrianna Hicks, Laura Wetsel and Julie Rhodes.

Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story is directed and choreographed by Casey Hushion. Hushion has been the Associate Director of several Broadway productions including Elf, In the Heights and The Drowsy Chaperone. James Cunningham is the show’s Musical Director.

Additional creative team members include Samuel Rushen as Production Designer, Edward T Morris as Scenic Designer, Matt Kraus as Sound Designer, Tammy Spencer as Costume Designer and Catherine Petty-Rogers as Wig, Hair and Makeup Designer.
