Three Texas Guitar Greats Onstage Together in North Richland Hills

Acclaimed Texas musicians Buddy Whittington, James Hinkle and Jason Elmore will close out the 2015 Sounds of Spring live music series this coming Friday, May 22 at 7 p.m. in North Richland Hills. The concert will take place at the NRH Centre Events Plaza, 6000 Hawk Avenue, between the NRH Centre and the Public Library.

All three guitarists enjoy stellar international careers, and all three make their homes in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Buddy Whittington is renowned for his 15 years with John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers, and has shared the stage with fellow guitar legends Eric Clapton and Gary Moore. Whittington often plays a 1963 Stratocaster and is lauded as one of the pre-eminent bluesmen performing today. James Hinkle began his career with Fort Worth’s godfather of the blues, Robert Ealey, at the storied Bluebird Club in the Como Neighborhood. Hinkle has performed with singer-pianist Marcia Ball and accordionist Ponty Bone and he regularly tours throughout Europe with his band, James Hinkle and the Transatlantics. Jason Elmore is known for his white-hot virtuosity and performances that bridge the gap between blues, rock, 60’s soul, vintage country and jazz. He has recently returned from a very successful Canadian tour with his band, Jason Elmore and Hoodoo Witch.

Concertgoers are invited to come out for an evening of music under the stars that promises to be filled with some truly epic music making. Concert admission and parking are free. The evening’s entertainment will include a free Kids Zone with games and a variety of arts and crafts for the younger music fans in attendance. Seating is on the lawn, so don’t forget your blankets or lawn chairs. In the event of rain, the concert will move inside to the Grand Hall of the NRH Centre. Food will be available for purchase from a variety of gourmet food trucks. Picnic dining is also welcome, but, please, no glass containers. Gates open at 6 p.m. and the concert starts at 7 p.m. NRH Centre Plaza, 6000 Hawk Avenue, North Richland Hills, TX 76180.
