SAGT Welcome Coffee & Guest Speaker Events
Southlake Association for Gifted and Talented (SAGT) is bringing acclaimed author and speaker Julie Lythcott-Haims to Southlake. Ms. Lythcott-Haims is an expert on the phenomenon of helicopter parenting and author of How to Raise an Adult. Her work has appeared on TEDx talks, NPR Radio, Forbes, The New York Times and Chicago Tribune. Ms. Lythcott-Haims will speak at both the SAGT Membership Drive Welcome Coffee on Wednesday, Sept, 23 at 9 a.m. at the CISD Admin Building and again at 7 p.m. at the CSHS Auditorium. Gina Peddy, CISD Executive Director of Curriculum & Instruction, will also speak at the morning Welcome Coffee. SAGT members attend free. Non-member admission is $15 at the door. Culinary Celebration Saturday at Hilton Southlake
Students have gone back to school. Parents need to celebrate the new school year and what better reason to come together to support CISD classroom, grade level and program grants. CEF cannot give back to CISD without our generous sponsors, donors and guests. Join our presenting sponsor, Park Place Lexus Grapevine, at the Hilton Southlake Town Square on Sept. 12 from 6:30-11:30 p.m.  Tickets can be purchased online. As a result of the generosity of our 2014 supporters, CEF provided numerous 2014 grants.

Bid For AP Booster Club Football Season Ticket Fundraiser
Bids are being accepted for a fundraiser for the Advanced Placement Booster Club that includes two Dragon Football season tickets for the 2015 varsity home games and a reserved parking spot in the DragonZone parking lot on the home side. The base bid will begin at $300. Email your bid amount by 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10. The highest bid at the close of the fundraiser will win and the winner of that bid will be notified. Watch our Twitter and Facebook pages for updates on the bid amount. The AP Boosters annually auction off two season football tickets and a parking pass as a way to help bring speakers and programs to CISD. Dragons-Midland Lee Football Tickets On Sale
Carroll High School and Carroll Senior High School are selling Dragons vs. Midland Lee tickets Thursday from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. and prices are $6 for adults and $4 for students. Tickets are also available at Dragon Stadium from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday.

Play It Forward Southlake Hosting Equipment Drive Friday
Play It Forward Southlake is hosting a new and used sports equipment drive Friday at the Carroll-Midland Lee home opener at Dragon Stadium. Donations will be accepted starting at 5:30 p.m. until kickoff. The equipment benefits youth athletes throughout DFW. Also, come meet Pro Players from the Pro Players Foundation and get an autograph.

DragonZone Parking Auction Update
The winners of this year’s DragonZone auction parking spots at Dragon Stadium can contact the administration center regarding an update on their spots. Please call 817-949-8282 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Car signs for these spots will be available Thursday afternoon at the administration center.

Emerald Belles Hosting Jr. Belle Dance Clinic & Workshop
The award-winning Emerald Belle drill team will host its annual Junior Belle Dance Clinic for girls K-4th and Dance Workshop for grades 5th-8th. The clinic and workshop will be held on Saturday, Oct. 17 from 1-4 p.m. at Carroll Senior High School located at 1501 W. Southlake Boulevard. Check-in begins at 12:45 p.m. Workshop participants will receive instruction from Director Melissa Page and Captain Jessica Bowman in the areas of technique, choreography, drill team fundamentals and tryout information. Special Programs Parent Information & Student Fun Fair Sept. 17
The Carroll ISD Special Programs department is hosting a Parent Information & Student Fun Fair night on Thursday, Sept. 17 at Eubanks Intermediate, located at 500 S. Kimball. It will be held from 5-7:30 p.m. and will provide parents information on all the district’s programs, including ESL, Dyslexia, Speech Therapy and many more. Students will enjoy a movie room, gym access, arts and crafts and more. Free pizza, drinks and snacks will be provided.
