Casa Manana Presents Junie B. Jones, The Musical

Casa Mañana Theatre presents Junie B. Jones the Musical as part of the 2015 – 2016 Children’s Theatre season, presented by Northstar Bank. Tickets are on sale now.


It’s Junie B.’s first day of first grade and a lot of things have changed for her: Junie’s friend Lucille doesn’t want to be her best pal anymore, and on the bus, Junie B. makes friends with Herb, the new kid at school. Also, Junie has trouble reading the blackboard and her teacher Mr. Scary thinks she may need glasses. Throw in a friendly cafeteria lady, a kickball tournament and a “Top-Secret Personal Beeswax Journal,” and first grade has never been more exciting.


Junie B Jones the Musical stars Laura Wetsel as “Junie B.” Ms. Wetsel is a favorite in the community, after playing popular roles such as “Pinkalicious.” Other cast members include: Brynn Smith as “Lucille/Bobbi Jean Piper,” Brandon Wilhelm as “Herb/Chenille,” Parker Fitzgerald as “Sheldon/Camille/Lennie,” Kelsey Martin as “Mother/May/Grace” and Major Attaway as “Father/Mr. Scary/Mrs. Gutzman.”

The show is directed by Casa’s director of children’s theatre and education, Noah Putterman, and choreographed by Jeremy Dumont. Additional creative team members include Samuel Rushen as lighting, Katie Dill as scenic designer, Kyle McCord as sound designer, Tammy Spencer as costume designer and Catherine Petty-Rogers as hair, wig and make-up designer.

Performance dates and times are as follows: Friday, October 16 at 7 p.m., Saturday, October 17 at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., Sunday, October 18 at 2 p.m., Friday, October 23 at 7 p.m., Saturday, October 24 at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., Sunday, October 25 at 2 p.m., Friday, October 30 at 7 p.m., Saturday, October 31 at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., and Sunday, November 1 at 2 p.m.
