Kids Who Care Theatre Presents Look Up
This newest original work from Kids Who Care features hilarious scenarios such as the overuse of selfies, emoticons, and other new lifestyle trends that have arrived in this modern world of technology. Woven with spoken word and musical numbers that draw fond memories of childhood; mixed with nostalgia of the lost art of communication; this work is sure to trigger emotions from audiences of any generation. The cast is made up of young artists from Fort Worth and the surrounding areas to study with the Artistic Staff at Kids Who Care for as the 2015-2016 Resident Company.
Set design includes captivating projections in lieu of props. These projections are created under Chase York (Projection Design) a Kids Who Care Alum who graduated from the New York Film Academy in 2010 where he worked on over 40 short films. Film credits include: Hidden Agenda (Producer/Director of Photography/Editor), The 7 (Director of Photography), and Awake (Key PA). Projection Design credits include: Rocky Horror Picture Show (Dallas Theatre Center), Book Club (Dallas Theatre Center), and District XI: Believe in Me (Kids Who Care). Most recently, Chase designed projections for Kids Who Care’s You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown and Dallas Theatre Center’s Mountaintop.
Look Up is written by Kids Who Care Alumni, Students, Artistic Staff, guest writers and associates including award-winning filmmaker and spoken word artist, Gary Turk.
