CDA Wilson Honorary Chair of This Year’s FW Walk Like MADD

Criminal District Attorney Sharen Wilson is serving as the Honorary Chairperson for the 2015
Walk Like MADD in Fort Worth, this Saturday, October 24th on Panther Island. This 5K walk/run is designed to raise funds and awareness for the victims of drunk driving.

CDA Wilson on this year’s event:
“I am proud to be the Honorary Chairman of this year’s Walk Like MADD, being held on Saturday, October 24th in Downtown Fort Worth. This event is important for its role in raising funding and community awareness in support of MADD’s mission against intoxicated driving.

“The devastating impact of crashes involving impaired driving is made all the more horrific by the fact that this offense is wholly preventable. A person always has the choice not to get behind the wheel when they’ve been drinking. MADD has long been a leader in our community, our state, and nationally, in fighting on behalf of victims who have been affected by DWIs and Intoxication Assault and Manslaughter cases. It provides counseling and public education, and actively promotes legislation to help protect innocent victims, penalize intoxicated drivers and prevent repeat drunk driving.
“I’m looking forward to joining my staff, many of our County’s law enforcement officers and MADD participants this weekend to Walk Like MADD. I hope you’ll consider joining us!”

The walk begins at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, and registration runs until Friday, Oct. 23 at 5:00 p.m. For more information, or to register for Fort Worth’s Walk Like MADD, please visit:
