Firemen’s 5K honors memory of two firefighters killed in Lake Worth church fire

Firemen’s 5K honors memory of two firefighters killed in Lake Worth church fire

Run alongside Fort Worth’s Bravest in the 19th annual Firemen’s 5K
at 8 a.m. May 27 at Arborlawn United Methodist Church,
5001 Briarhaven Road.

The Firemen’s 5K was established in 1999 by Gary
Stevenson in memory of two firefighters who died while
fighting a church fire in Lake Worth. The run began as a
way to benefit the families, and the families later decided
to continue the 5K in memory of Phillip Dean and Brian
Collins.

Proceeds benefit Compassionate Friends and The WARM
Place, two organizations that provide grief support when
a loved one has died.

Entry fee is $30, or $35 on race day.
