HEB ISD: Donna Park 3rd Graders Build Bridges to Hold Dictionaries
At Donna Park Elementary, librarian Nancy Guirguis and 3rd grade teacher Aris Musa created a bridge-building activity for a science review week. Each group of students created a hypothesis surrounding the idea of building bridges to support the weight of dictionaries. The students built bridges out of K’Nex building sets, paper towel rolls, and other basic materials. The groups persevered through their building challenge with inspiration from the book Whoosh! by Chris Barton.
