At their May 14 school board meeting, Northwest ISD trustees unanimously approved Jim Mahler as the principal of Hatfield Elementary School.

Additionally, he was an assistant principal at White Settlement ISD’s Blue Haze Elementary School for two years. His education career began in Northwest ISD 11 years ago. He has served as a teacher at Prairie View and Sendera Ranch elementary schools.
“I am honored and excited to become part of Hatfield Elementary School,” Mr. Mahler said. “I was fortunate to begin my teaching career in Northwest ISD and have met some amazing people along the way. I look forward to meeting the staff and being able to connect with the parents and children in our community.”
Mr. Mahler received a bachelor of science in radio/television and a master of business administration from Butler University. He also holds a master of educational administration from Lamar University. As a previous Exemplar Educator in Northwest ISD, Mr. Mahler has served on many curriculum writing teams and designed and implemented various family curriculum nights and summer book club programs.
“I am looking forward to working on building upon the culture and traditions established at Hatfield Elementary,” Mr. Mahler said. “Together, I know we can make great achievements.”
He will begin his position at Hatfield Elementary School this summer and replaces Carrie Pierce, who was named principal of NISD’s new Lizzie Curtis Elementary School.
