Colleyville: City to host information session on snakes

Colleyville: City to host information session on snakes

With summer upon us, residents have expressed concerns about snakes in the area. While some snakes are venomous, others are harmless. To better educate the public, the City will be hosting a snake presentation on Wednesday, July 18 6-7 p.m. at Colleyville Center, 5301 Riverwalk Drive.

The presentation will be led by biological curator Carl Franklin. Carl is a faculty member at the Amphibian and Reptile Diversity Research Center at the University of Texas at Arlington. Previous to this, Carl worked at the Fort Worth Zoo and the Dallas Zoo. Carl has 20 years of experience and will provide information on Copperheads and other snakes.

Learn about the various types of snakes, how to identify them, and see live specimens. This presentation is free of charge and all residents are welcome.
