KISD Musicians Selected To Texas All-State Band And Choir

KISD Musicians Selected To Texas All-State Band And Choir

On January 12, musicians from Keller ISD auditioned for the opportunity to be named “Texas All State Musicians.” Students who earned all-state honors will perform in San Antonio, Saturday, February 16, at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, as part of the 2019 Texas Music Educators Association Clinic/Convention.

High school students selected to perform in the All-State organizations have successfully competed through several rounds of auditions, beginning in the fall of 2018. Over 1,600 students are selected through a process that begins with over 60,000 students from around the state vying for this honor to perform in one of 15 bands, orchestras, and choirs. Only the top 3% of musicians who initially audition become All-State musicians. Being named an All State Musician is the highest honor a Texas music student can receive.

These All-State students will participate in three days of rehearsals, directed by nationally-recognized conductors during the TMEA Clinic/Convention. For the All-State concert schedule and conductor information, go to
