Trophy Club: Emergency Preparedness Summit & Fair

Trophy Club: Emergency Preparedness Summit & Fair

Weather in our region is unpredictable and can change in an instant. To help North Texas families prepare for any emergency they may encounter, Congressman Michael Burgess, M.D. will host his annual Emergency Preparedness Summit & Fair on Saturday, March 23rd at the Trophy Club Town Hall.

In partnership with the Town of Trophy Club, the Tarrant County Office of Emergency Management, Denton County Emergency Services, and other organizations, Dr. Burgess has designed this FREE and informative event to be enjoyable for the whole family.

The Emergency Preparedness Summit and Fair will feature educational opportunities and free resources to equip North Texans to handle emergencies they could encounter at home, school, or work. Dan Henry, Chief Meteorologist for KDFW/Fox 4, will deliver a keynote address on “Making Sense of North Texas Weather” with the National Weather Service. Other speakers will discuss school safety and community preparedness at the local, state and federal levels.

Children are invited to tour Emergency/Disaster Response vehicles and “Touch the Trucks,” as well as participate in a Make & Take craft inside the Kid Zone.

The event will open to the public at 8:00 am with access to the fair, and presentations will begin at 8:30 am; the event will conclude at 12:00 pm.
