Keller: Mt. Gilead Greenwalk ribbon cutting scheduled for April 1

Keller: Mt. Gilead Greenwalk ribbon cutting scheduled for April 1

Keller Parks & Recreation’s April Night Hike will kick off with a ribbon cutting for the city’s latest trail extension along the north side of Mt. Gilead Road between Bourland Road and Woodborough Lane. Attendees are invited to park at Ridgeview Elementary School, 1601 Marshall Ridge Pkwy., and meet at the intersection of Mt. Gilead and Bourland. The ribbon cutting will start at 6 p.m. followed by the department’s monthly night hike, which on April 1 will last about an hour (roughly 2.75 miles).

The new trail extension is 10 feet wide and about 3,300 linear feet long, primarily aimed at expanding pedestrian access for residents in the Mt. Gilead Ranch, Bridgewood and Overton Ridge subdivisions.

For the April Night Hike, children and strollers are welcome, as are leashed dogs. We recommend water bottles, closed-toed shoes, flashlights or headlamps, and an adventurous spirit! Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Questions? Parks & Recreation may be reached at 817-743-4050.
