HEB ISD: Suzuki Strings Students ‘Play-in’ with the Elementary Honors Orchestra
Suzuki students across the district participated in a play-in alongside the Elementary Honors Orchestra (EHO) on February 28 at Central Jr. High. This orchestra is comprised of the most advanced Suzuki Strings students, and serves as a stepping-stone to the musical development of HEB ISD students in preparation for orchestra participation in middle school and high school. Younger Suzuki students had an opportunity to perform Suzuki pieces with the orchestra, and experience hearing the ensemble they may join one day with continued hard work.
Thank you to Vincent Pugh, director of EHO, for his dedicated effort in preparing our students. Thank you to Tara Truex, orchestra director at Central Jr. High; Kevin Torrefiel, assistant orchestra director at Central Jr. High; and Mr. Belcher, principal at Central Jr. High, for supporting our orchestra program and allowing us the use of facilities. Congratulations to all Suzuki Strings elementary teachers on their hard work developing the character of young students.
