NISD: Amanda Burruel Named Keller Middle School Principal
Keller ISD has named current Bear Creek Intermediate Principal Amanda Burruel as the new principal of Keller Middle School.
“I am truly excited and honored to serve as the new Principal of Keller Middle School,” Burruel said. “I have had the privilege of serving as the Principal at Keller ISD’s Bear Creek Intermediate for the past two years, and now I am overjoyed to join the Comanche team.”
Burruel joined Keller ISD in 2017 from El Paso ISD, where she served as the Administrator over New Tech, a school within a school at Bowie High School.
From 2014-16, she was the Assistant Principal at Granbury High School, and was an Assistant Principal at Cleburne High School from 2013-14. Burruel began her career as a teacher and coach at Ed White Middle School in North East ISD. She earned her undergraduate degree at Oklahoma Panhandle State University and her Master of Education in Educational Administration from Concordia University.
“I began my career in education teaching and coaching middle school students for seven years. The uniqueness of the middle school age group holds a very special place in my heart and very much feels like home,” Burruel said. “While I will miss everyone at BCI, I am thrilled to be able to continue building on the relationships I’ve forged with BCI students and their families as they transition to KMS.”
Burruel assumes the KMS Principal role for the 2019-20 school year, as Sandra McAuley prepares to embark on her retirement journey after leading KMS for 11 years.
