Irving: Lone Star Youth Orchestra Concert

Witness the Lone Star Youth Orchestra take a bow as it closes its 20th anniversary season with Curtain Call. The final performance of the year will feature the two winners of the LSYO Concerto Competition, Bernardo Arthur Guerra (violin) and Jadon Guthrie (flute) and celebrate the culmination of talent and hard work these young musicians have developed this season. Concertgoers are welcome to a reception following the concert.

In addition to the concert and reception, the Lone Star Youth Orchestra will also host a fundraising raffle! Raffle prizes are still being collected, but they include donations from Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Raising Cane’s, Dallas Zoo, Topgolf, the Four Seasons Resort and Club Las Colinas, and many more. Raffle winners do not have to be present to win.

Purchase your ticket at and show up to the concert at the Irving Arts Center on May 15th at 7:00 PM!

Currently in his fourth year as conductor of the Lone Star Youth Orchestra, Kevin Pearce brings a unique combination of a world-class musical background and an unending commitment to education. Pearce recently completed coursework for his Doctor of Musical Arts in Orchestral Conducting at the University of North Texas, in the studio of David Itkin, and currently teaches orchestra in Rockwall ISD. Prior to his move to North Texas, he served from 2008-2013 as the inaugural Director of Orchestras at Cypress Lakes High School in the western suburbs of Houston. During his tenure, the Cypress Lakes Orchestras won multiple UIL Sweepstakes awards, as well as top honors in local and national festivals.

The Lone Star Youth Orchestra is the only tuition-free youth orchestra in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and is one of the most pivotal pre-college experiences for talented high school instrumentalists.  Membership in the Lone Star Youth Orchestra is open to all middle and high school string, woodwind, brass, and percussion players. The LSYO offers rolling auditions throughout the season for any interested student musicians. Additional information regarding auditions can be found at or by calling (972) 252-4800.
