KISD: CHS One-Act Play Wins State Championship
Central High School’s production of Euripides’ Medea earned the 2019 UIL Class 6A State One-Act Play Championship.
Actress Renee Powell, who portrays the title character Medea, earned a spot on the State All-Star Cast, while Jose Gonzalez (“Jason”) earned Honorable Mention.
This is Central High School’s first State One-Act Play Championship and the second in Keller ISD’s history. Keller High’s production of Richard III won the Class 5A Championship in 2010. This was Central’s third time to compete at State having previously advanced to the State Finals in 2009 (first runner-up) and 2010.
This year’s State One-Act Play Competition was held April 25 at the Round Rock ISD Performance Art Center.
Congratulations to the cast and crew of Central High’s production of Medea!
