Watauga Mayor to Proclaim June as LGBT+ Pride Month
June is LGBT+ Pride month across the globe. Pride month is an opportunity to raise political awareness of current issues facing the LGBT+ community. LGBT/Gay pride is a movement that celebrates sexual diversity. For lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people it is a way to protest discrimination and violence while promoting the tenants of equality, dignity and self-affirmation.
In recognition of the importance of these tenants for all people, the Watauga Mayor, Art Miner, will be issuing a Proclamation declaring the month of June as LGBT+ Pride Month in Watauga during a ceremony on Friday, June 14, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the lobby of Watauga City Hall, 7105 Whitley Road, Watauga, TX 76148. All interested parties are invited to attend.
