Ridgmar Mall reveals Athletic Apex as newest retailer
Athletic Apex is not an ordinary gym. From equipment to bio-performance, the health and fitness company is committed to helping people of all ages and fitness levels reach the peak of their body’s potential. With clubs in Florida, New York and Texas, this new location is projected to open in 2020 on the first level of the former Neiman Marcus building.
Internationally recognized for innovation and voted the No. 1 health club in Orlando, Fla., Athletic Apex provides their members the latest cutting-edge technology, methods, workout environment and education in bio-performance. Bionetics®, the club’s interactive system of assessment and exercise designed to restore and enhance the human body, was developed by company founder and CEO, Randall Hunt, and has been used by some of the most renowned professional athletes worldwide for peak performance.
This all-inclusive health club will offer a wide range of the industry’s leading exercise equipment, free weights and group exercise classes. Some of the club’s signature amenities will include towel service, saunas, member lounge, turf zone, kid’s zone, seminars, member events, boot camps, TRX, yoga, barre, spin and more. With a strategic design and layout, Athletic Apex will provide the space, equipment, services and amenities to promote the health and wellness of the growing community.
This purchase is part of the overall mixed-use redevelopment plan for the retail center. In October 2016, GK Development acquired the 120,000-square-foot building occupied by Neiman Marcus. A phased multimillion-dollar renovation began of the property in 2016. Phase one included interior improvements to open up sight lines within the center and a $3 million remodel of Cinemark Theatres.
“There are exciting things in store for Ridgmar Mall,” said Garo Kholamian, president of GK Development. “The future of regional malls is changing, and as we continue to move forward with our plans for the revitalization of this property, we aim to enhance the ultimate experience here. We’re pleased to bring in Athletic Apex, which adds another diverse option for guests.”
Future phases of the transformation to a mixed-use property are also expected to include many new retail, entertainment and dining establishments with cutting-edge architectural design and diverse options to maximize the prime location in between the heart of Walsh Ranch and downtown Fort Worth.
The mall, located at the northeast corner of Interstate 30 and Green Oaks Road, currently features 126 retail stores. For more information, visit www.Ridgmar.com.
