Ambassadors continue to provide assistance to downtown residents, workers, visitors

The Downtown Ambassadors continue to make an impact on hospitality and safety in the central business district.

Downtown Fort Worth Inc. added Downtown Ambassadors to the services provided by the Downtown Public Improvement District. The Ambassadors circulate throughout downtown in their vibrant green pickup, on foot, on bicycles and on Segways to help visitors, create a friendly and welcoming environment and add extra eyes and ears on the street.

Between April and June of this year, the ambassadors:

  • Made 1,655 business contacts.
  • Reported 725 cases of graffiti and stickers.
  • Provided hospitality assists to 18,980 residents and visitors.
  • Provided 131 safety escorts.
  • Reached out to homeless people 1,301 times.
  • Assisted motorists 113 times.

The Downtown Ambassadors provided an added level of hospitality at two downtown events during the quarter. At the Main Street Fort Worth Arts Festival in April, they staffed the information booth alongside festival volunteers and offered restaurant recommendations and directions. During Burnett Park’s 100th birthday picnic in June, the team distributed water, games and picnic blankets, and offered restaurant recommendations, event information and escorts to cars.

The crew is on duty downtown from 7 a.m.-midnight, seven days a week. Contact the on-duty supervisor at 817-484-3723.
