THERE ARE MANY WAYS IN WHICH YOU CAN SERVE, INCLUDING VOLUNTEERING FOR ONE OF THE CITY’S BOARDS OR COMMISSIONS.
These boards typically meet no more than once per month. City boards each have seven places which are appointed by the City Council for twoyear terms. Justin Community Library Board
Serves in an advisory capacity for the City Council for strategic planning efforts related to the library. Reviews policies and procedures for possible updates. Must be a resident of the City of Justin.
Justin Economic Development Corporation
Serves to stimulate economic growth and development in the City and to oversee expenditures of the EDC sales tax revenue.
Justin Community Development Corporation
Serves to stimulate economic growth and development in the City and to oversee expenditures of the CDC sales tax revenue. Must be a resident of the City of Justin.
Keep Justin Beautiful Advisory Committee
Serves to promote the Keep Justin Beautiful programs of litter prevention, beautification and community improvement, and minimization of the impact of solid waste in the City of Justin.
Parks & Recreation Board
Serves in an advisory capacity for the City Council for projects designated by the Council related to public parks & recreation for the City of Justin. Also assists with strategic planning efforts related to City parks & recreation. Must be a resident of the City of Justin.
Planning & Zoning Commission
The commission serves as outlined in Chapters 211 & 212 of the TX Local Gov. Code regarding planning and zoning of the City and its extraterritorial jurisdiction. Shall also assist with recommendations for new ordinances or revisions to existing ordinances related to planning & zoning with the City and in an advisory capacity for strategic planning related to long-term plans for the City. Must be a resident of the City of Justin.
