Grace Christmas Cottage Opens
The mild temperatures have only heightened the Christmas Spirit at GRACE Christmas Cottage.
GRACE Christmas Cottage opened its doors Tuesday with client-parents coming in to shop for their families. The tireless volunteers at Christmas Cottage are ready to help nearly twice as many clients as in Christmases past.
Many generous folks have filled the Christmas Cottage with toys, games and other items to help make shopping easier.
Generosity and hope were the watchwords last Monday when the Christmas Cottage open house saw a capacity crowd with every visitor bringing a new unwrapped gift for a child.
“Our donors have been shopping since Thanksgiving,’ said Lori Stevens, GRACE Christmas Cottage manager. “But all of the stock will need to be replenished before we close.”
Though Christmas Cottage was well-stocked to start, the client-load this week and next will severely deplete the offerings. Christmas Cottage officially closes December 22.
“We have toy drives coming up that will help,” said Lori, “but I’m really worried about Tuesday (December 21) and Wednesday (December 22),” Lori asks, if it is at all possible, to bring a new unwrapped toy to Christmas Cottage today and next week. The GRACE Christmas Cottage is at 1250 William D. Tate in Grapevine (next to JoAnn’s Fabrics).
Donors can go to the special online site and make a contribution to GRACE that will be designated exclusively to Christmas Cottage. Just go to GIFT to make a contribution.
A gift of $15 will buy gifts for a family with two small children. A gift of $25 will buy gifts for a family with three small children, or a young child and a teenager. A gift of $50 will buy gifts for a family with two teenagers. All gifts will be used to make Christmas merry for GRACE clients
Thanks and Merry Christmas!
