POSITION: Public Works Skilled Maintenance (Entry to Level II)
The City of Richland Hills, Texas (pop. 8,000) is seeking skilled maintenance workers to perform a wide variety of general labor and maintenance of city streets, parks, facilities and water and wastewater infrastructure in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures. If you are interested in learning the complex field of public works or you have experience in this field and enjoy working as part of a team, providing service to the public, problem solving, working with hand tools, and heavy equipment in a variety of outdoor environments this field is for you. The ideal candidates must be ethical and trustworthy, interested in serving the public and working as part of a team.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and some manual labor experience (such as mowing, carpentry, plumbing, etc.) or construction trades experience. Must be able to push, pull, lift and carry tools, materials and debris up to 75 lbs. and have the ability to bend, kneel, and stand walk for extended periods of time during various maintenance activities. This position is exposed to outdoor elements, participates in and performs duties in accordance with departmental safety policies and procedures. Must demonstrate intrinsic motivation, high ethical and moral standards, and strong customer service and have regular, reliable attendance. Must be able to clear a post offer drug test and criminal background check
COMPENSATION: Starting hourly rate depends on experience. Entry level no experience is $14.42 hr.; depending on commercial drivers license and other certifications, starting rate may range from $14.96 hr. to $19.43 hr. The City provides medical, dental, life insurance and long-term disability insurance, TMRS retirement as well as vacation and sick time are also part of the compensation package.
