Westlake – New Town Secretary/Organizational Performance Manager Named

Secretary/Organizational Performance Manager. The formal appointment was made last night during the monthly Town Council meeting.  Wood is no stranger to Westlake. He started in 2001 as only the second full-time employee in the Town’s history.  He’s served in many roles with the Town including accounting and payroll, office manager, IT support, webmaster, administrative services, and most recently, the position of Director of Human Resources for the last 13 years.

Todd received his master’s degree in business administration from Western Governors University in 2007. In his new role, Wood will have much more of an impact on Westlake’s long-term success.

“As Westlake continues to grow and evolve, we choose to grow and evolve with it. My new position is somewhat of a hybrid; something that has never existed before. In addition to the duties of Town Secretary, I will also be involved heavily in strategic planning, performance measurement, and analytics. It reminds me somewhat of when I first came here more than 18 years ago when we built nearly every department from scratch. I’m very excited about my new role, one where I can build processes that will help us achieve higher levels of performance and success. This is the reason we are here…to make Westlake the very best community anyone could hope to be a part of”, says Wood.

Noah Simon, Westlake’s Deputy Town Manager says, Mr. Wood was the perfect choice for the new, revamped position.  “As we envisioned what we wanted in our next Town Secretary/Organizational Performance Manager and what we thought the next evolution of the position could be, we kept landing on Todd. Todd brings a wealth of institutional knowledge, has the support of staff and the unwavering support of Town Council. Todd brings exceptional analytical skills to the table. It just seemed to make sense to have the person who embodies these traits, has his knowledge and ability to elevate the position and organization to take on this role. I am excited to see Todd lead us in these endeavors and take our organization to new heights.”
