CENTRAL HS GIRLS POWERLIFTERS HEADED TO STATE
Central High School is sending two of its powerlifters to the Class 6A State Championships after outstanding performances at the March 3 Regional Qualifying Meet.
The Chargers’ Jordan Anderson finished as Regional Champion in the 132-pound division, punching her ticket to State. CHS teammate Sydney Dougherty finished in second place in the 114-pound division, and also earned a spot at State.
CHS junior Abby Robert came up just short of joining her teammates at State, as she finished fourth place in the 148-pound division at Regionals.
All combined, it was Central’s best-ever showing at Powerlifting Regionals, marking the first time a Charger had earned a Regional Championship and the first time any CHS girls powerlifter has advanced to State.
The Texas Girls High School Powerlifting State Championships are set for Saturday, March 21, in Waco.
