Saginaw Imposes Additional Park Restrictions for Easter Weekend
Vehicle access to city parks will be closed and use of pavilions, gazebos, shelters and shade structures will not be permitted to help ensure social distancing and gathering restrictions are followed.
Easter weekend is the busiest period of the year for our city parks but residents are strongly urged to stay safe by staying at home or restrict park visits to walking, running and bike riding activities. County wide restrictions allow for healthy outdoor activities such as walking, biking, hiking and running provided participants maintain the 6-foot social distancing requirements from people outside their household. Egg hunts, parties and other group activities that encourage gathering are not permitted.
These additional park restrictions will be imposed beginning Thursday afternoon (April 9, 2020). Public safety officials will be monitoring for compliance and may issue citations in parks for those who are gathering and not adhering to social distancing requirements.
