Update on Missed Trash Pickup

The City of Bedford is aware that numerous streets did not receive trash collection following the Christmas holiday. City staff contacted Republic Services regarding the missed pickups and Republic staff reported that higher-than-normal volumes of trash and bagged leaves during the holiday week, combined with landfill operating hours, prevented some routes from being completed as scheduled. 

Crews are working today to collect trash that was missed on Friday (Thursday service day), with household trash being prioritized first. Bagged leaves will be collected as time and capacity allow. Republic Services has apologized for the inconvenience.
