Smithfield Road Water Main Break & Road Closure (Posted 1/25/26 at 2 p.m.)
NRH Public Works has closed Smithfield Road in both directions between Chapman Road and Main Street due to a water main break. Our team is currently assessing the break and making a plan for repair. A few residences and businesses on Smithfield may be experiencing low or no water pressure because of the break.
Southbound traffic is being detoured on Chapman to Holiday Lane. Northbound traffic is detoured on Main Street to Davis Blvd. At this time we do not have an ETA as to when the roadway will reopen, but we will share additional information as it becomes available.
Evening Update (Posted 1/24/26)
First off, thank you to our incredible teams on duty serving! From our public works to our public safety, #TeamNRH shows up to take care of our community and each other!
As more precipitation moves into the area overnight, we’ll see additional accumulations on already icy roadways. Please avoid travel if you can and use extreme caution if you must get out on the roads. Travel slowly and allow extra space for stopping.
Temperatures are expected to dip into the single digits with wind chills at or below zero. Make sure to drip faucets, keep cabinets open to help keep pipes warm, and know where your water shut-off is at the meter. In the event of an emergency water shut-off, please contact dispatch after hours at 817-281-1000.
Due to the weather conditions, the polling location at NRH City Hall will be closed on Sunday, January 25. Check poll hours and locations via the Tarrant County Elections website.
