As the United States approaches its 250th anniversary on July 4, 2026, the Captain Molly Corbin Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) invites the public to attend a Liberty Tree Dedication Ceremony on Saturday, February 28, at 2:00 p.m. at Bicentennial Park, 200 Unity Way, Southlake, TX 76092.

The Liberty Tree holds deep historical significance in America’s founding. The original Liberty Tree was a large elm in Boston that served as a gathering place for patriots and a bulletin board for calls to action during the early resistance to British rule. When British loyalists cut down the tree in 1775, it intensified colonial opposition and helped galvanize the movement toward independence. Inspired by its symbolism, towns across the colonies designated their own Liberty Trees as enduring emblems of unity, courage, and freedom.

To commemorate this legacy, this Liberty Tree Dedication will serve as a living reminder of the ideals and sacrifices that shaped our nation. The ceremony will honor America’s Revolutionary heritage while encouraging reflection on the values of liberty and civic responsibility that continue to define the United States.

The Daughters of the American Revolution is a non-political, non-profit lineage-based women’s service organization dedicated to preserving history, promoting patriotism, and supporting education.
