CapMetro is honoring June Safety Month by sharing a few tips to keep CapMetro riders, pedestrians, cyclists or scooter riders safe:
- With double tracking, you should expect a train on any track in either direction. We urge you to look both ways before you cross the tracks at a designated crossing.
- Always use the crosswalk. Crossing anywhere else is illegal and dangerous.
- All pedestrians should cross safely at the crosswalk AFTER the bus has passed.
- Don’t chase a missed bus! To avoid injuries and traffic hazards, stay safe and catch the next one.
- Never speed under or drive around lowering gates or flashing lights – it’s illegal and dangerous.
- Request a courtesy stop from the driver if you’re traveling alone by bus after 9 p.m.
See Something, Say Something
CapMetro strives to be a safe environment for all riders. But sometimes a safety concern may arise and when they do, we offer simple ways to report an issue:
- Report non-emergencies on board by calling the GO Line at 512-474-1200
- If there is an emergency or assault, please call 9-1-1 immediately
