Why are the fireworks on July 1 this year (not July 3 or July 4)?
Moving this event to July 1 allows us to kick off America’s 250th Anniversary with an exclusive, spectacular drone show in addition to our traditional fireworks and family entertainment! While this annual celebration is usually held on July 3, the date was shifted this year due to public safety and regional resources being focused on the FIFA World Cup 2026™ match in Arlington. To ensure a safe, high-quality event for our community, the Chamber made this proactive decision in partnership with its partner cities – Haltom City, North Richland Hills, Richland Hills, and Watauga.
Important Traffic Safety Reminder
Never stop in the roadway to watch a fireworks or drone display. Stopping in traffic lanes or blocking intersections creates severe safety hazards, increases the risk of collisions, and blocks emergency response vehicles. No matter where you are celebrating America’s Independence Day this year, plan to arrive early, park legally, and help keep everyone safe!
