Staff met with TxDOT representatives this week to receive an updated project schedule for the John McCain culvert and roadway improvement project. TxDOT currently anticipates the project will be completed in September, pending any unforeseen issues or inclement weather.
This week, the contractor began subgrade cement stabilization of the roadway on the western end of the project. This phase of the work is expected to take approximately two weeks. The contractor must also complete the remaining work at the bridge culvert, including installation of the guardrail. This work has been delayed due to issues with the delivery and installation of the guardrail and is expected to take approximately 14 days once underway.
We understand that the extended project timeline has been frustrating, and we sincerely appreciate the patience and understanding of our residents. While the project has taken longer than anticipated, we are grateful for the grant funding that made these improvements possible and, most importantly, for the long-term safety benefits this project will provide to our community.
