The City of Justin will host its annual Fall Clean-Up from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, October 17, at Justin City Hall, 415 N. College Ave.
The event is open to residents who live within the Justin city limits, including the Treeline Subdivision. Proof of residency is required and may be provided with a driver’s license or water bill.
Residents may bring general household bulk trash, although some restrictions apply. The event will also offer free electronic waste recycling for cell phones; laptops; computer towers, with or without hard drives; monitors, keyboards and mice; power cords and speakers; and small countertop appliances such as microwaves and toasters.
On-site document shredding will be available for bank statements and checks, financial and insurance records, payroll and employment information, and other sensitive personal documents. Staples, paper clips, folders and rubber bands do not need to be removed.
Items not accepted include tires, paint, hazardous chemicals and appliances containing freon, including refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers and water coolers.
Some items carry additional disposal fees. TVs up to 65 inches, excluding large projection models, cost $25 each. Non-commercial CRT computer monitors cost $25 each, as do non-commercial desktop printers and scanners. On-site hard drive destruction is available for $15 per drive.
The city encourages eligible residents to use the event to dispose of unwanted household items, recycle electronics and securely discard sensitive personal information.
