The City of Hurst is phasing out text notifications for recurring e-newsletters, including the Hurst at Play E-newsletter from Hurst Parks & Recreation.
Beginning in November 2026, the e-newsletter will be delivered by email only. Residents who currently receive it by text will receive their final text notification with the current edition and are encouraged to sign up for email delivery to continue receiving updates about Hurst Parks & Recreation.
To update notification preferences, visit hursttx.gov/getconnected and select “Sign up for email or text notifications.” Enter an email address and select “Submit.” New subscribers will need to complete the sign-up requirements and submit their information.
After signing up, subscribers can select the topics they want to receive. To continue receiving the parks and recreation newsletter, choose “Hurst at Play E-newsletter.”
People who already receive text notifications can log in using their phone number and update their selected topics. The City of Hurst said the change is intended to reserve text alerts for critical information that needs to reach the community.
Subscribers can customize their preferences to receive the updates that matter to them. For example, selecting “Public Notice” will provide critical alerts from the City of Hurst.
